Brief fund description:
Franklin Adjustable U.S. Government Securities Fund seeks current income consistent with stability of principal. The fund normally invests at least 65% of assets in adjustable-rate mortgage securities or other securities collateralized by mortgages. These securities are guaranteed by the U.S. government or its agencies or instrumentalities, and are considered to be of the highest credit quality. It may invest the remaining assets in other U.S. government obligations. Prior to March 13, 1990, the fund was named Franklin Adjustable Rate Mortgage Fund. On April 9, 1999, Franklin Adjustable Rate Securities Fund merged into the fund.
