Smith Barney Adjustable Rate Government Income Fund - Class A seeks income. The fund normally invests at least 65% of assets in U.S. government securities and in adjustable-rate securities. It may invest the remaining assets in mortgage- and asset-backed securities, and corporate debt securities rated AA or better. Class A, B, I, and Y shares are offered by the fund, all of which differ in fee structure and availability. Prior to Aug. 2, 1993, it was named Shearson Lehman Brothers Adjustable Rate Government Income Fund. From that date until Nov. 7, 1994, it was named Smith Barney Shearson Adjustable Rate Government Income Fund.
