The fund invests in a combination of equity and fixed- and variable-income securities, typically maintaining at least 20% of assets in each of the two types. The equity portion of the fund consists of common stocks and convertibles. The debt portion consists primarily of investment-grade corporate bonds and U.S. government obligations.
