Brief description of trading system:
TCI Methodology is a Trend Following and Money Management System with additional filtering rules to select and manage entries and exits; we use behavioral price patterns and explore the relationship between short term and long term fundamental direction, investor psychology, price trends, price behavior and the balance of supply and demand. Clients in the TCI community invest in accordance with the following guidelines: Diversification: The TCI approach is to trade a basket of more than 30 instruments and to diversify into multiple sectors like financials, energies, currencies, grains, indices, meats, metals, softs, etc. Our focus is to create a balanced portfolio with the proper sector diversification to control and manage risk. Recommended Trading Capital: The recommended trading capital per account is $50,000.00. The subscriber may trade more capital by having multiple accounts; each account will be trading multiple instruments being allotted up to one contract per instrument. The money management guidelines will only allow the open of new positions if the current open positions, in conjunction with the new position, do not exceed 50% of the net asset value at the time the trade is being placed. The TCI approach is to trade a basket of instruments and to diversify into multiple sectors to create a balanced portfolio to control and manage risk, this also gives the subscriber a reasonable staying power to withstand realized or unrealized drawdown when it occurs. (The subscriber may start with less than the recommended trading capital suggested so long that the subscriber understands that an undersized account will have a higher level of risk, less number of trades, less diversification to balance the risk, less staying power to withstand drawdown and a higher probability of receiving a margin call). Selective: TCI strategy uses a filtering system to select between 5 to 10% of what we consider to be the best entry signals from a basket of systems. With a large basket of systems, we can be extremely selective in picking trades with the highest probability of success. Most markets will trade in a trending environment less than 10% of the time. Our goal is to be in a position only when the market is trending, where the most amount of profit can be made. Once profits have been achieved, we exit the trade and stay in a cash position until the next trading opportunity occurs. Fundamental direction and valuation: All instruments have an intrinsic true value determinable through fundamental analysis. The trade selection approach is to select only trades that have a clear-cut short-term and long-term fundamental direction. Defensive Strategy: The defensive approach is to neutralize any open losing position and to avoid realized losses. If the short-term fundamental direction changes and the long-term fundamental direction stays the same direction, we use our trading capital as staying power to stay with the trade until the it comes back to profit. If the short-term and long-term fundamental directions change and the market is going against the position, we will to select other instruments to offset or hedge the original position, thus creating profit to offset the losing position. When the fundamentals start to change back in favor of the original position, we then take the profit on the offset or hedged position and let the original trade come back to profit, therefore allowing both positions to be profitable without any realized losses. Price movement behavior analysis: Every instrument has its own price movement behavior due to important psychological patterns and prospective reactions to changes in market conditions and news announcements. We select instruments whose price movements we believe to be the most consistent with the behavior of the changes in market conditions. Usage of Technical tools: TCI philosophy believes price is the only reliable source of information on what will happen in the market. Therefore, TCI Technical Indicators use the geometric progression of the price action to calculate, predict and identify the directional acceleration, volatility, balance of supplies, and extreme level of instrument internals. These mathematical factors and calculations are designed to identify the reversal points of market tops and bottoms in a defined time frame. All the price action data, as it is generated, is put into a formulated order to be analyzed and calculated projected directional entry and exit. Opportunistic: The TCI systems approach is to trade any instrument or asset class with clear-cut short-term and long-term fundamental directions when event-driven strategic observation appears most favorable at the time. Money management: Money management is one of the most important components to trading. TCI's Money Management System is a foundation to our trading success. It determines risk, profit, loss, position and size. It relies heavily on compounding profits systematically and giving you rules and guidelines on how to allocate and manage your investment assets. Money management is also a defensive system to keep you in the game so you can have the staying power to keep on trading. Many people confuse money management with Stop Placement. Stop placement is not money management.
